Massage Therapy

We have a licensed massage therapist on staff at Optimal Health Center.  We believe it is vitally important to work with the muscles surrounding the spine as well as the structure of the spine itself.  If the structure of the underlying bones is misaligned (Subluxation) it will cause irregular pulling and stretching of the muscles, in addition to nerve interference.  This is most often demonstrated when you keep getting the same muscle knots and tension in the same areas over and over.  Many people have even had massages in the past only to have the tension and knots return within a day or two.

It is also true that if there is tension and cramping in the muscles it can cause the structure (spine and bones) to misalign.  Because the muscles and structure are linked in a mutual working relationship, we at Optimal Health Center work on both.  We use Chiropractic adjustments to unlock the spine and joints while also utilizing massage and simple postural and spinal exercises to allow the body to heal.  This approach allows us to address the cause of most people's pain and tension and not just temporarily cover up their symptoms.  We feel our methods allow our patients to heal much quicker and also hold their adjustments and results much longer.  Our ultimate goal is to Equip and Empower our patients to Live their Lives without limits!

If you want a Healthy Body, you must have a Healthy Spine.

Dr. Jim Asks some important questions of interest to Tempe residents - Chiropractor Tempe Dr. Jim Asks...

What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Tempe parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Tempe chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
