Introducing Tempe Chiropractor Dr. Jim Garrett

Dr. Jim Garrett

I was always told "you're just going to have to LIVE with it ". I believed that all through my childhood, because it seem to be true: I had Asthma as long as I could remember until I started getting adjusted for my NECK problem I created through working toward one of my Black Belts in the Martial Arts.

Since I had experienced Chiropractic for myself and the MIRACLE of no longer needing the 3 different Asthma medications to live a" Normal " life , My Path to being a Chiropractor had been laid. The thought of helping others with their Health limitations and Expanding their sense of possibility of what "could be" if they just felt better or had better Health without feeling dependent on a CHEMICAL to survive.]

I began my Pre-Chiropractic education at Chabot College in the San Francisco Bay Area and continued with a private school in S.F until October of 1984 where I started Life Chiropractic College -West, in San Lorenzo, CA. During my 4 years at Life-West, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on Anatomy and human Physiology, X- Ray, diagnosis, many chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life-West public Clinic. After Graduating in 1987.Dr Garrett Re-Located to AZ to establish his practice in the Phoenix metro area.

I have a huge passion to help people see the difference between Health Care and Sick care. The fastest growing segment of our population are the Centenarians; people 100 years or more and to know that dependence on a chemical to "keep us well" just won't work!To be truly healthy, one must know the value of the Nervous System and how to properly maintain it-for as long as they want to experience health and well-being.

Dr. G. is married to Michelle and have 3 princesses that were all born naturally, without drug as well as not being vaccinated. ( if that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr G to explain!) We enjoy getting out and exercising together, laughing, playing, reading and movies.

Dr. Jim Asks some important questions of interest to Tempe residents - Chiropractor Tempe Dr. Jim Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
